| Event: | Design of a New Showroom |
| Venue: | Morris' Glasgow premises |
| Objective: | WOW factor design with practical layouts |
Autumn 2009 introduced Kristal Design to the Morris Furniture group of companies! For those of you who are familiar with the furniture industry the Morris group need no introduction, and for those of you that are not the Morris Group are the parent company of names such as G Plan who are synonymous with design and outstanding quality.
Naturally this introduction was deemed very exciting and dangled carrots of grand designs and large scale projects.
Our initial brief from Morris was for the International Furniture Show 2010. And if the truth be told did not seem overly exciting as the client had a very tight budget and an iron clad brief that required little more than stock walling laid out into room sets for the display of furniture.
However our philosophy here at Kristal demands that each job regardless of size or budget gets the same attention to detail as the next. The plans were drawn, the client was happy and the job was installed ahead of schedule with no fuss exactly as requested.
In May 2010 Morris briefed Kristal for the design of a stand at the Manchester Furniture Show; again this stand was almost a replica of the NEC stand earlier in the year and was delivered and executed in the same manor.
Almost immediately after returning from Manchester we were called to Morris Headquarters in Glasgow to discuss a brief for the design of a new showroom within the Glasgow premises. The brief was for a WOW factor design with practical layouts.
After numerous modifications to initial design concepts we arrived at what Morris were looking for and installation dates were agreed. We have recently finished installation of the project and are extremely pleased with the outcome. A crisp design well thought through by the design team, and executed equally as well by the production team.
